George Fetting was one of the 28 finalist in the Australian Life 2019 Art & About Sydney Prize, one of Australia’s biggest annual photography prizes recently exhibited in Hyde Park.
George Fetting’s Portrait titled ZUFI – Diptych was a finalist in both the Bowness Art Prize 2019 (in colour) as well as Australian Life 2019 ( in black & white).
The portrait features a 22-year-old woman from Canberra now living in Inner West Sydney. Zufi was born in Ethiopia and adopted by an Australian couple at an age of 5 months old. Zufi's adoption story is a happy one – something she is grateful for. Zufi moved to Sydney as a Youth Ambassador for Adopt Change and Ambassador for Future Women (CH9) as well as to begin her studies at the Actors Centre of Australia. After graduating in 2018 she balances work as an actor with her commitment as an Adopt for Change Ambassador working along side other Adopt Change Ambassadors like Hugh Jackman & Deborah Lee Furness who strive to provide every child with a safe, nurturing and stable family upbringing.
