Movie Producer - Jocelyn Moorehouse
The Australian movie producer extraordinaire Jocelyn Moorhouse was in town to for a cover shoot which I had the pleasure of shooting. She put together the wonderful kids movie Peter Pan a few years ago which my children adore, and was filmed on the Gold Coast. Such a down to earth lady with a ton of really funny onset stories some of which are not for publication!
Hmmm I just have to figure out a way to get on set and start doing the film stills.....
Once in a while a really fun job comes along to shoot and the boys from Sydney band 'Crusin' Deuces were a complete hoot! Local Sydney musicians the boys are all gifted on their respective instruments and whip a right storm when the crowd is hopping. I thought I was in Nashville for a few minutes when the guys donned the Country and Western vintage clothing. In fact some of the clothing is original gear going back to the 40's and 50's! Authentic as they come these boys, and nice to produce some lovely black and white photography in the old style 'lith' print darkroom technique right here in the Leichhardt HeadShot Factory studio.
Good Ol' Boys - 'Crusin' Deuces
We had a ball a couple of weeks ago photographing the wonderfully talented Shona Vertue who actually represented Australia in elite gymnastics in another life. So basically this gal was the real deal when it came to her yoga movements - amazing strength plus incredible flexibility.
The photographic shoot was for Fitness First magazine and features in the latest issue. it was nice to be on such a great location for HeadShot Factory - a blazing summers day and fantastic weather. A nice departure from our staple of cool actors headshots and corporate portraits - I'd like a Bondi shoot every month I think!
I should have posted this shoot straight away as it's literally our first shoot at HeadShot Factory.
And what a fabulous first shoot to get the studio rolling - a gorgeous nude pregnancy shoot!
We put together some great picture ideas, including of course the legendary Annie Leibovitz stylised portrait of Demi Moore from that famous Vanity Fair cover. Would you believe that was taken back in 1991..... 24 years ago. Our favourite gal Marnie Gerber went to work and weaved her magic with a number of looks in the hair & makeup department and we were away.

Hello world and if I may introduce myself HeadShot Factory is our cool studio space that's very recently opened in the funky Sydney inner west suburb of Leichhardt. My beautiful wife and partner in crime Rachel and I have been dying to set up a studio space we can call our own for very long time and as we say 'the planets aligned on this baby' and the end result is a perfect space for our core portrait work. This includes actors headshots, business profiles, editorial features , LinkedIn portraits and much more. With a great outdoor area out the back as well, I've set up a cool range of backgrounds ranging from corrugated iron to old weathered fence palings to other creative backdrops. So I don't have to say that if your are in the neighbourhood it is a given that you drop in and say hi!
